Oooooooops!!!
I forgot to include define_loudspeakers.c ... I will fix this on monday.
Yes, It's amplitude only. I'm working on a demo that will use delays to give a sense of distance.. but this might take some time. Imo the nice thing about vbap is it allows any number of loudspeakers in any position..
Thanks. Juha

Hi Juha,
it compiled for Win after adding a simple
#ifdef NT #define sqrtf sqrt #endif
...but: it does not work. When I try to load the patch (vbap-help.pd) with
Pd
0.35 test17 and zexy 1.1 I get:
define_loudspeakers 3 -30 0 30 0 -90 0 90 0 180 0 180 45 -45 45 45 45 ... couldn't create
and a lot of "connection failed" errors...
I just wanted to let you know in case there's something missing in the tarball. I was sort of surprised to see your announcement because I'm
working
on an external to do a similar thing (quadrophonic listening space using 4 (later 8) loudspeakers). As far as I understood the method used in VBAP
it's
only amplitude that is used to create the virtual source. My external will use reverberation as well to create a feeling of 'remoteness' that goes beyond the space defined by the speakers... (it's somehow based on the formula / basic principle given in Dodge/Jerse's 'Computer Music', 2nd.
