Hi all I am wondering whether there are any externals that function like openpanel or whatever it is called, to display a file selection box, in GTK?
If not, where can I find documentation for writing externals?
Thanks

not to my knowledge - and why on earth would you want that ?

I have particular reasons to need the GTK 2.4 file chooser, thanks for the link I will write my own external then.

You might also just write a standalone gtk file chooser and use OSC (search for Steve Harris' liblo) to send/receive the file message over the net. In fact this would be very simple to to with pyGTK. And add to that, if might already be done with gripd.

That is a good idea, but I don't want or need anything as complex, as the primary reason for using the GTK file chooser is for accessibility reasons, and I then don't have to redesign something from scratch, and I know it works.

Well, my suggestion might be less complex than having to marry Gtk and Tk into one application, but I don't know enough about these things. I'm looking forward to your external.
