I saw that a few people have reported this problem, but no one has given an answer.
I'm running kernel 2.4.12 with pd 34.4 oss and a SB PCI128 I can only get PD to open the /dev/dsp device readonly and so I cannot get adc~ working. The exact message is:
/dev/dsp (readonly): Device or resource busy
I did notice something strange in that when I run soundon (to start oss) the mic in gets passed right through to the output. I tap the mic and can hear it through the speakers. this happens before I even run PD. OSS problem then?
Anyone else had this passthrough problem with OSS?
Thanks all,
Ben
hi,
although not with the same soundcard, i exactly had this problem using OSS.
i fixed it now by using ALSA in OSS emulation mode.
i can't really tell for the SB PCI128 but I think it's rather a generic problem.
i guess you should use ALSA.
cheers,
