Hi, I tried the latest autobuild for intel mac and still get errors. during unpacking the dmg file. I tried the file from 10/24, called Pd-0.39.3-extended-macosx104-i386.dmg. when I try to open the file I get an error "codec overrun". does anybody else have this problem, or a solution??? here is some information...

that is the -verbose output of hdiutils:

It becomes even more strange, because I also get an error on my windows machine! when I save the file Pd-0.39.3-extended-windowsxp-i386.exe and try to open it, the installer says "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program." but, if I don't save the file, but run the installer directly from the download, then it installs ok. does anybody have similar problems? marius.

btw, I also get this error with http://at.or.at/hans/pd/installers.html and I checked my hardware (harddisk) for errors and permisssions ... no errors. Is there any other possibility to get the 10/13 autobuild? thanks. marius.

maybe I was to fast in saying that the installer works. it seems that some fo the downloaded file were corrupted. I tried it 3 times, and every time I get different errors:
C:\Programme\pd\bin\pd.dll
An error occured while trying to copy a file: The source file is corrupted.
and also pgmout-help.pd, babelfish.blm, homer.avi, pd-externals-HOWTO.pdf, midr-mjpeg.mov (that was the first time)
the second time gave me these corrupted files: logo100.gif, tcltk.pd, adv1.mcp, poke~.dll mass3D.dll, inspace.dll
and then I got these problems: msvcp71.dll. pd.dll, tk84.dll, G08.reverb.pd, env--help.pd, miadr-mjpeg.mov, nixon.aiff, lib_x_midi.dll, framespect~.dll, pd.window.pd, list2int.dll
is that a problem of my internet connection, or has the server problems? marius.

I was hoping for some changes in Gem. I still have problems loading images, because I get wrong colors when I use them as alpha maps. there is an old version that does the colors correct, but therefor no multitextures in glsl_program. I would like to use both features at the same time. At least now I now that the release of 39.3 did not fix this problem :(

hmmm, I have no idea, what the problem could be. I just would like to solve it, because it keeps me from working. I know 2 other people who have (or had) the same problem. did you delete the file from your cache before re-downloading? did you try it from different computers? sorry, I don't want to bother you with that problem too much. it is not the browser, because I tried several browsers. maybe it is some os x issue, but I also had the problem when I downloaded to the windows machine and transfered it to osx. (btw. the checksum did not change when copying from windows to mac...) It also makes no difference if I download from wifi or over cable. It can be the network connection, although I also had the problem when I was on another net. actually I have no idea... marius.

if it is a mirror, then why should the checksum change??? it just checks if the file was changed during transport, and every change is usually an error. I am downloading from the address below, I don't think this is a mirror... marius.

And me.
The md3sum i posted was from the 24th Oct. autobuild which Marius was
talking about, and posted a md5sum of, in the initial post in this
thread. The md5sum Roman posted of that file was the same as the
md5sum i posted.
Hence im afraid it's "on your side", Marius. Have you got the
opportunity to dl (the 24/10 autobuild) via another internet
connection? Did the version Roman provided "work"?
Steffen Juul wrote:

I would be glad to find the error, even if it is on my side. the sourceforge link worked perfectly. it is only when I download from the autobuild farm, and it is only since fall. (like september or so). I think it started before the convention. I also did a ssh into my server, downloaded the file to the server and then from the server to my computer and I did not have problems. (checksum ok). but when I download directly from the autobuild link, then I get a corrupted file. maybe it is related to the download speed? my connection downloads at 1.5 Mb/s (20seconds). all of my computers have problems to download the file (mac, windows and linux!) at that speed... Is it possible to enforce a check during download (which I thought tcp/ip does automatically)? I will test other computers and networks and maybe I find what the ones that do not work have in common. Is there a way to limit the download speed? marius.

Worth a try it is.
Is it possible to enforce a check during download (which I thought

I think it does something to check what it gets. And if it gets bad
packages it requests a new one. But i really don't know much about
tcp/ip.
I will test other computers and networks and maybe I find what the
ones that do not work have in common.
That would be good too. But what you say may indicate that speed is a
factor. Though strange. Maybe the router ain't geared for your fast
download rate.
Is there a way to limit the download speed?
curl
can with the '--limit-rate' parameter. So something along the
line of:
$ curl --limit-rate 100K http://path/to/autobuild/dmg > dmg # dl @
100K/s

Weird, I just downloaded them all again, and got a different md5sum from both of you:
2ea3c667de64cd13e8449fdd0bb24da1 Pd-0.39.3-extended-macosx104-i386.dmg
marius-schebellas-computer:~/www/pd marius$ ls -l Pd-0.39.3-extended-macosx104-i386.dmg -rw-r--r-- 1 marius marius 35065615 Oct 24 15:16 Pd-0.39.3-extended-macosx104-i386.dmg
But it takes up the same space:
$ ls -l Pd-0.39.3-extended-macosx104-i386.dmg -rw-r--r-- 1 <u> <g> 35065615 Oct 24 23:46 Pd-0.39.3-extended- macosx104-i386.dmg

A couple of days later, I did reupload a newer release with fixed pdp help files, maybe you have the earlier version
