i would like to use a midi sequencer to send midi data to pd (and other gear). it is possible (under linux) connect a sequencer to pd, and the pd midi-out to a midi-interface?
(i have both alsa and oss sequencers, so i think oss would go. btw: why pd uses Oss instead of Alsa? it isn't oss obsolete?...)

Pd (so far) uses rawmidi devices, which are not necessarily OSS devices. (ALSA also has rawmidi devices in /dev/snd/midi*, and OSS also has a highlevel interface in /dev/sequencer etc.)
For doing it the old way, use the snd-virmidi card as described for example here: http://footils.org/cms/show/24
The new way is to check out the ALSA sequencer support which is available as a patch on pure-data.sf.net and is also applied to the devel_0_38 version of Pd in CVS.
