hi list
i was wandering if it is posible to make the GEM window fullscreen on
the primary display ( fullscreen = no topbar and no dock ). i´m
working on a mac using 10.4.1

Hi Claus,
I only have need for fullscreen 2 and that works great with no menu bar.
As for fullscreen 1, unless things have changed, I'm not sure that
you can really get rid of the Apple menu bar.
Take a look at this:

to bad that this can´t be done in pd/GEM, because i really need
that feature for a lot of my work. guess it´s to soon to leave max and jitter.
but thanks for the replies

The solution is simple:
#1 connect a second monitor. #2 get OSX to detect the second monitor, non-mirrored. #3 drag the pull-down bar onto the second monitor.
I think now [fullscreen 2] will give you a fullscreen window on the first monitor. Or maybe its fullscreen 1.. is the montitor with the title bar change the primary display?!?! blech.
Why not use only the second monitor?

Maybe there is an OS X hack out there on the internet you can use to hide the menu-bar.... I think the gemwindow is actually full-screen just that OSX chooses to put the titlebar in front of it.

I think the solution might be to put the 'old' fullscreen code back in and have it kick in when only one display is present. Any other combination of displays with that method is a total disaster though.

well the dock is easy to hide. workaround for the menue: if your (or
your schools) computer uses a CRT just move the picture up until the
bar diappears.
