Hi,
Í'm building an interface for registering visitors to an expo. I'm on windows using 0.39.2-extended-test4 and the GUI is made with [gripd].... So, someone inserts his name, mail and phone number in 3 different textboxes in [gripd] and everything is [pack]ed together and inserted to a [textfile]. The problem is that the phone numbers get converted to scientific numeric format (eg: 0445554241424 = 4.4554e+011), so it´s of no use.
How can I get the 0445554241424 (yes, that's a cellphone) to enter the textfile exactly as it is written in the textbox?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this needs to be ready in the next 12 hours... jeje.

Pd stores numbers only with a limited precision, something like 5 or 6 decimal digits - but symbols are stored with any number of characters.
Use a symbol box, and [makefilename someprefix%s] before packing. Note: this will not store exactly as the number is entered, but the prefix is necessary otherwise it will be considered as a number on load, and then lose precision....

Hi Adrian~
Try breaking it up into different fields.

thanks Claude and Kyle for the response...
ok.. what I did was break the [gripd] interface up into two number input fields and then [pack]ed those two with an initial [mobile:044( [symbol], so as to preserve the "0" in the front and added all that in a [makesymbol %s-%s-%s] object.
It looks quite allright at the end,,, although it is a bit awkward to input, since you cant set a digit input limit for the textboxes in gripd and passing 6 digit in each box gets it messed up.... I guess it´ll do for now.
[r pack]
I
[mobile:044(
I
[symbol] [r textbox1] [r textbox2]
\ I /
[pack s a a] [s pack]
I
[makesymbol %s-%s-%s]
