Hi, If I go to Media->Preferences->Path and open the dialog, then just click Ok, Pd re-registers the search paths with a plus sign prefixed to them-- thus something like /home/foolib becomes +/home/foolib.
Is this a feature or a bug?

might be a bug.
in order to be able to fix (or even reproduce) it, it would be great if you could provide your OS and Pd-flavour as well as -version?

self-compiled.
Just tried it on Windows XP
If I add a folder to the path then do pdtk_post "$::sys_searchpath\n"
I get:
+C:/Documents+_and+_Settings/Owners/Application+_Data
Then if I close Pd and open it again, pdtk_post gives:
{C:/Documents and Settings/Owners/Application Data}
And if I open the path dialog without changing anything and click "OK" I get:
+C:/Documents+_and+_Settings/Owners/Application+_Data
