Hi!
If you are looking at an absolute pd-zero, I'm here :-) The aim is to make a functional generator for DIY-ing purposes: sine, pulse with different fillings, switches for freq/level ranges, sliders for freqs/levels, mixing, white/pink noise, and all this under JACK routing.
If I understand well, pd is the best to do the thing.
Will anybody direct me to learning steps (examples, tutorials, ...) to achieve the purpose in a shortest way?
Thanks in advance! Andrew

Pd comes with builtin documentation and tutorials. Select: "File->Help->Browser" ang go through all of them in order.
The html-manual also is online at: http://www-crca.ucsd.edu/~msp/Pd_documentation/
This should keep you occupied for several days, I guess. ;) Feel free to answer any questions you have in understanding the docs here.

Okay, beack to serious mode: I wasn't joking with the several days stuff at all. If one wants to take the shortest path to learn Pd, then apart from joining a workshop by one of the prominent list members, reading and working through the documentation is the best approach. Doing this will not take longer than a couple of days, however of course how much someone will understand in that time is another issue.
Pd itself is one of the easiest programming environments out there. I have seen people (in workshops) do amazing things after a couple of days.
Mastering it however will not take take several days, it will not take months, it will literary take years. Like learning the piano does. Well, but most people here know this.

Great link, bookmarked. However one should note, that is is possible to become famous in less than 21 days. I have seen this on TV, really.

also, miller's electronic music text is valuable. but that's for more in-depth learning than you're probably talking about here ...

Unfortunately, you can go through the tutorials and still not be able to build what this gentleman wants.
Why?
Because, as I understand it, to make the objects he wants in PD you have to understand all the math in Miller Puckette's book (see chapter 10 on making classic waveforms). Things like square waves are complicated when synthesized from scratch in a digital environment.
If he wants to do it quickly, I would suggest instead Googling to find the externals that people have already built, rather than spending 5 years learning how to build square waves and filters. The wheel has already been invented.
I will say, once again, I do wish that there was a decent library of PD "primitives" (basic waveforms, MIDI toolbox, GUI mixer with pan faders, and most common effects) all in one place, that was cross-platform compatible. Lack of these things caused me to only use PD to test ideas, and to use Plogue Bidule (which has built in HID for Windows) and Reaktor to build my actual instruments. PD is "better" in its internal logic than these, but it lacks enough building blocks to be of any use in the "real world", for me at least.

You can also copy this stuff from the example patches.

Indeed, but, quote, "a functional generator for DIY-ing purposes: sine, pulse with different fillings, switches for freq/level ranges, sliders for freqs/levels, mixing, white/pink noise, and all this under JACK routing" to my ears sounds more like software than music.
Regarding "doing it quickly": The closest thing I know to do stuff like that quickly is Dave McCallum's collection of objects and the RRADical patches by me, combined with things like LADSPA plugins and your SC-externals.
Nevertheless all this will stay unusable if one doesn't know the basics of Pd which can be learned very well through the tutorial patches and the html manual.

why don't you write these things as abstractions, so that you can use them as often as you like to?
