I figured some people wouldn't like it so that's why I did two separate patches. I personally think it looks kind of nice (that's why I did it :), well that and I didn't have anything better to do at work all day), and the performance loss on my system is completely acceptable.

i really like it, i would also like excessive gradients on sliders and nobs, i ahve the CPU to spare. going ahead, i think it would be great to have a command line option like --pretty-gui so that we get teh best of both worlds :)
