Hi Miller, hi all,
I was just wondering if the -rt flag works with NT. The list of available flags says so but when I use it pd does not start (displays the list of flags instead). In s_main.c I found "#ifdef __linux__" in line 606 just before the code for the realtime stuff. Moving this down to include the -rt & -realtime flag results in Pd putting out error messages about every second saying "pd: unknown message ping".
An alternative to have Pd running at realtime priority it to change the process' priority with the task manager of Win2k / NT. This gives slightly better performance...
Is there a chance to get the realtime flags running in NT?
Thanks,
Olaf
HI all,
It's a mistake that the "-rt" flag prints out as an option in Windows land. Pd always asks Windows for "realtime" status, no matter what. In Linux this is stronger magic and so is only done by request (and if Pd is setuid or run by root.)
cheers Miller
