Hi all,
Pd version 0.46-0 is available on http://msp.ucsd.edu/software.htm or via git from sourceforge: git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/pure-data/pure-data cd pure-data git checkout
New stuff: oscformat and oscparse objects - so Pd vanilla can input and output OSC via UDP. (For TCP, USB, or other wrappings you still also need the slip encoder and/or decoder from mrpeach.
Jack support compiled in for Mac computers.
Audio and MIDI devices saved by name so that when they get switched around Pd has a better chance of restoring settings correctly.
New [text tosymbol] and [text fromsymbol] to allow string manipulation.
Netsend/netreceive can send messages bidirectinally if using TCP protocol.
other miscellaneous improvements and lots of bug fixes.
cheers Miller

thanks for this!
while updating the debian package, i got a build error, due to wrong usage of "pd_error" in g_template.c
you can find a fix for this (and probably others) at [1]. (all debeian-specific patches are prefixed with "debian_", you can ignore these)

Thanks - I lost this in the 0.46-1 rush but have applied it now.
I notice a UTF8 handling patch in there too that apparently isn't being applied (and anyho it fails) - is this wirth my trying to apply be hand? (possibly dangerous since I don't know how utf8 works :)

one more with 0.46-0 using ALSA instead of Jack after fixing the main envelope time selector so that long envelopes could be adjusted. working on the modulators for the mf~ and dspcookbook filters at the moment. it's hard to blow the vcf~ maybe impossible

iirc, an alternative has already been applied to Pd-vanilla (which
would make the PdX patch unneeded and would explain why it fails to
apply).
i don't have my devmachines available right now, but could check in
the next few days.
