Hi Matteo, here on Jaunty with 0.42.5 autobuild the command pdextended works fine. Have you tried to install a latest autobuild as mentioned before? I don't think you need to compile all what you are compiling.

On Ubuntu/Lucid, you should be able to install both the
'puredata'
package and the 0.42.5-rc3 package.
Hi Matteo, now the launcher script for pd-extended is pdextended in /usr/bin. Pd-vanila still uses pd command to be launched if i'm not wrong.
I installed the jaunty binary package for pd extended, it runs with "pd" and there is no "pdextended" command.
I guess that improvement is more recent.
In order to install the latest version I guess I'll have to download the source and compile it, no?

No, I installed the package available on the download page (0.41.something), that's why it ran with "pd".
I'll try the autobuilds.
Btw, regarding the "devel" (0.43) version, is it an experimental version of Extended or of Vanilla?
Thanks m.

Yeah it seems it's vanilla.
_Note_ however that the package description says "Pd Extended" and actually describes Pd Extended ("with a large collection of externals...")

That's something that HC needs to note... the cause is surely that the devel branch used to be extended but currently it's vanilla. Which means, if i understand right, that the fancy GUI-rewrite will first appear in vanilla and later in extended.

Sounds right to me. Except the devel branch was always based off
vanilla.
