Hi there,
Whenever I start Pd extended on my win xp system, it warns me that midi in is "dangerous" under Windows. I would like to know if this issue has been solved with windows 7.
Thank you.

it's just a message. it is not really dangerous (in the way that your roland guitar synth will blow up). the message is printed with the current MIDI implementation for w32 within Pd. it has nothing to do with the version of w32 you are running. i very seldomly use MIDI, but i did use MIDI on w32/xp without encountering any dangers.
i think it is printed because the multimedia api (which is what Pd uses on w32 to access midi), is rather (old and) limited: e.g. there is no raw midi in. this might change once somebody takes care of it and ports the w32-midi to another API. in this case the warning might change.
bottomline: i _think_ the danger mainly refers to the fact, that the objects might change. e.g. the [midiin] object might, at some day in the future, start emitting messages. don't let that take you by suprise.
