hi list,
i was searching archives and couldn't find any decent update on this old question - has this issue been resolved? loading soundfiles without clicks during performance?
i found [anysoundfiler] but it seems to not do much when i load a file, and when i load another file it freezes pd.
sorry if this was answered before...
any ideas?
best, luka
hi luka I have the same problem here: when loading audio files in array (even if the array is not resized upon loading) pd hiccups. I found that the best way to avoid them is to load samples all at once before starting the performance each one in a different array and then use the "use buffer" message to tell the tabread~ which array to read from. p.

You'd have to extract Tim Blechmann's threaded [soundfiler] from pd-devel 39 and turn it into an external. AFAIK this has still not been done, even though that has been coded over five years ago.
