Greetings.
I've recently convinced a video editor friend of mine to lean PD/Gem
so that we can create a duo in which I will generate audio in real-
time while he edits video in real time. I have quite a bit of
experience working with PD for audio processing, but know little of
Gem or video processing. So while I can be a big help to him with
the basics of PD, I'm not really able to teach him how to use Gem.
My question is, in addition to the tutorials available on
puredata.org, is there a book or books (I'm thinking an equivalent to
the Roads Computer Music Tutorial or Dodge/Jerse) that would be a
useful reference for him (and me)?
Thanks for your help.

It's not really a tutorial, but a great overview of historical video synthesis:
Electronica) -- ed. Steina & Woody Vasulka
