Hi Miller,
I'm seeing a fairly consistent crasher on the Mac, using a freshly- squeezed pd-0.36-test9.
sometimes it's a bus error, sometimes it's a segfault. Once or twice, an odd clone of the source object was created. Once, I got a slightly more helpful error: "Consistency check failed: glist_findrtext".
Does this appear on NT or Linux?
I tried to find the source of Frank's Text Editor non-function, but once I reached g_editor.c::canvas_key, I realised there's a whole lot I don't understand about certain of Pd's internals. :)
But in looking at it, I learned that--at least in the current version of Tcl/Tk MacOSX--we're not getting keysyms from the arrow keys. That explains a couple things that Ryan mentioned earlier. I have a simple hack for the end of canvas_key that helps move objects around on the canvas. (Was planning on throwing it at CVS tomorrow morning.)

Hello Adam,
This crashed PD on my Windows XP machine too.
I followed the 5 steps you outlined and "Consistency check failed: glist_findrtext" crashed PD.
Having said that, this is the only time that I've ever performed those 5 actions in precisely that sequence!
Regards, Dave S

Hi Miller,
I'm seeing a fairly consistent crasher on the Mac, using a freshly- squeezed pd-0.36-test9.
- create two objects
- connect them
- start changing the destination object by typing into it
- stop typing mid-word (so that the name wouldn't be a legal object)
- press undo

I got this once on Linux, too, and I'm only using 0.36 since yesterdays, so after your report I'm expecting it to happen again...
I tried another crasher from 0.35: typing into a number box, *don't* hit enter, type into another numberbox, hit enter. This crashed 0.35, but not 0.36 anymore. Yep.
So there's hope :)
