the .pdrc file must be in your home directory or ~/ try to do that in your terminal window: ls -a that gives you the list of files and directories (even the invisible ones= starting with a point) and if there is not any you can create it using pico (superuser privileges may be needed to create file starting with a point.) Hope that helps. I did that few weeks ago and it is very useful.

The .pdrc feature is linux only... Actually, I hope someday to make a much better design someday and haven't been maintaining the .pdrc stuff for that reason (except to fix bugs.)

Hi, Miller,
I changed the #ifdefs surrounding the appropriate parts of .pdrc code, and it works without further modification on MacOSX--there's nothing inherently "Linux" about the code. I checked this into the CVS development branch, which I have been distributing as an "enhanced" Pd.
Cheers, adam

Well, that certainly works for me because I installed the Adam' s package. Adam: the way your package installs pd is to create its main directory under /usr/local/pd. I have read many reference to pd under the path /usr/bin and even some reference to /usr/lib Initially where is PD to be installed ?

Yes, it's my personal preference. I recognise that others might not prefer this place, but my reasoning is that:
the pd-relevant files in too many places 3) /usr/local/pd keeps everything in one place, so if something goes wrong, you can trash the directory and start again.
I have read many reference to pd under the path /usr/bin and even some reference to /usr/lib Initially where is PD to be installed ?
Wherever you can get it to run from. :) But if you plan on continuing to use my installer, it's best left where it is. (But if you know what you're doing, put it wherever you like!) Other MacOSX utilities in the future may rely on it being there...
Cheers, adam
