Would this be a good substitute for GEM (in simple video playback terms!) on RPi? You guys mentioned something like it... I just didn't really get if yes or no!

i have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. from your body and your subject i guess that you mean that "for video playback you could use *this* lightest fastest linux window manager is a good instead of Gem". the answer for this is simply "no" (but i have the feeling that my rendering of what you meant is totally off)
please include a tiny bit of context of the mails you are replying too (esp. since your mailer seems to have problems with threads, so I cannot even guess which email you are replying to)

I guess you're talking about oxmplayer on the RPi.
