hi rainer ! unfortunately it is not possible since the pix_movie-object does not use the "normal" pix-buffer routines but writes directly into the gfx-card's memory (like "pix_imageinplace"). therefore we do not have access to the pixels.... however, i agree that there should be an object for pixel-processing AVI's (and other formats...) the main problem would be the naming issue: any suggestions how it should be called ? if it is urgent i could do it quickly

it was for jmax http://mamalala.de/ see electronic projects there, I wanted to do a pd port ages ago, but couldn't find the time to build the damn thing (also my friend with the real hw expertise, who I would call up 25 times during the building is now 200km away, as opposed to 2000m when we both stayed in berlin ...)

thanks for the links. i am in the process of building one together with a friend. we are looking in the direction of a serial, stackable interface.. anyways, (promises, promises), if this ever sees the light i will post it here.

hi tom,
if you have some programming experience, you can use the box that i have made for jmax. you can find it in the electronics section of my site (mamalala.de) you need to adopt the driver to pd, and you need a pc to use it.
im working on an usb version of this (yea, got a pic dev.-enviroment now) so, at the end of this year there will hopefully a usb version of this. this should allow for use on any computer with an usb port. and cheap, too ;)
greets,
chris
