The most of the files will be installed into /usr/local/lib/pd, the executables are installed into /usr/local/bin. There is a launcher here: /Applications/Pure Data.app. Double-click that and it should launch Pd. Or from the Terminal, run /usr/local/bin/pd
To delete MacOS X packages, use OSXPM: http://www.osxgnu.org/info/pkgdelete.html

I tried it again, and after going through the installation i discovered only a pd folder, with no executable files. It is simply a folder housing two smaller folders, one that reads 'doc' and the other 'extra.' Where is the file I run PD with?
btw - to clear out the previous installs, where would I hunt for rogue files (I cleaned out all references to PD in my applications folder before loading the new one in)?
Yes, you can use MIDI devices with OS X and you can easily use
multi-channel audio, these were very hard under 0.36. Plus you can
choose your audio devices from a menu when Pd is running rather than
having to use the .pdrc.The installer should make it dead simple to install 0.37 on OSX. Let
me know if you have any problems with it..hc
