thanks eric
i just figured out tabplay but i'm glad i made that post anyway because the example patch you gave is much tidier than what i had :)
it loops seamlessly. although i'm using it to layer samples of rain (so it gets heavier/lighter) so if there was a small delay it might be hard to notice.
either way i'm happy
thanks again :)

hi rene,
[tabplay~] can do this very quickly. the right outlet sends a "bang" when the sample has been played. hooking this up to the triggering inlet causes a loop.
there may be a 64 sample delay between when the sample ends and the "bang" is actually called though, due to the way messages are scheduled. (could somebody confirm this?)
here's an example:

hi
i'm trying to layer some looped samples. the samples have been trimmed to loop smoothly so i was hoping there might be a simple way to do it like readsf~ but looking at the documentation it seems not.
before i lose the weekend to figuring out arrays and tables i thought i'd ask if anyone knew of an easier way to do this. i just need simple stop and start of some straight sample loops (only 3 in total) - no need to keep time or anything.
cheers
rene.
