hi list, anyone with experience in making live performances over the radio (or similar) using Pd and willing to give a workshop about it during the Pd con, please get in touch with me asap with some references. max
Dear List,
we may have the opportunity to secure a bit of funding for the concerts section if we manage to propose a convert evening in the local community radio. they have a broadcast studio where concerts are possible. to pitch this, I need until wednesday rough concepts for performance/concert pieces (sorry for the short notice) and a few words about the author, performer.
here are some ideas i had after 5 minutes brainstorming, please appropriate them:
controlling the listeners. make a concert/performance by telling over the radio who needs to do what. switch your lights on/off now, use the horns, shout out of the window, turn your radio up/down...
make a performance with feedbacks in the radio station using receivers. i'm thinking of the wonderful variable delay feedback control patches in johannes kreidlers tutorial. people could call in the studio and add stuff to the delay line by phone.
use the phone to create a participatory live connection. anyone who calls is on air. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Alice of cause this may be possible via skype, googletalk....
a netpd performace live on radio, open for anyone to join.
use the Hinz-Triller, that's a special frequency signal that tells car radios in germany to switch on and off for the traffic announcements (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autofahrer-Rundfunk-Informationssystem ) to control stuff - a kinetic sculpture, whatever. actually you can probably use any kind of signal to control things over the radio
+....
please send me your concepts/short cv
