can i somehow play mpeg videos in pdp/pidip ?
or is there a (linux)tool that converts mpeg to quicktime mov ? (wanna use my electricsheeps :)

yes, you can read mpeg files in PiDiP with the pdp_live~ object which is basically a wrapper for ffmpeg library, so that it supports the formats that ffmpeg can read.
