I installed a gforce 2 MX agp card , and all openGL apps works fine (Mesa demos, GL xscreensaver, GLquake, ...)
I compiled the last Gem's release (gem-linux-0.86PRE1.tgz) as well, and I lauch pd with verbose flag, everything seems to be good
Rendering work as well, but when I destroy the render windows, the Xserver crashs, saying :
Fatal server error: Caught signal 11. Server aborting
When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send the full server output, not just the last messages. This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log". Please report problems to xfree86@xfree86.org.
xinit: connection to X server lost. xterm: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) or KillClient on X server ":0.0" wmaker warning: got signal 1 (Hangup) - exiting...
Maybe it's not an Xfree bug, Gem is the only app that make my xserver crash.
I tried with "create :0" and "destroy :0", It hapenned as identical.
I will try with my second PC.
Regards

this is indeed very strange. i once had pd-crashes when destroying the Gem-window, but they are gone, since i upgraded to newer drivers. (so which ones are you using ?) i never before have heard of crashing the Xserver by closing Gem.
