Dear list,
For the non-programmers, is there a way to create the .dll files necessary to run the libraries in windoze? The sources appear always prepared for linux (or so it seems - and I am not able to install my linux yet, since I cannot find a way to schrink my ntfs partition). Is necessary a compiler, or another external program to create the files? (I'm running xp home)
By the way, if I remember correctly, one of the features of the test versions was the ability to include spaces in a file/folder name. Is that feature also valid for the labels of bangs? (when I use a space, the text doesn't appear, it seems to be inside the bang switch)
Thank you again,
Joo Miguel Pais

You'll find several threads in the IEM pd-list archives regarding windoze .dll compilation. Yes, you need a compiler and the VC++ environment is most widely used, though if you check out mingw with nmake you can try your luck there. Several people have offered their makefiles and settings, again the list archives should help there.

Regarding your NTFS problem, sounds to me like you might benefit from joining a LUG and getting help from them. I belong to:

People are really good at helping through the scary parts of screwing around with linux as a newcomer.
The are several ways of getting NTFS (and other win distros) to behave and recoil partition wise, but that is not a PD topic. As a note, dual booting has come far and doesn't mean you need to trash you have to trash your windoze partition if you need it.
One GOOD free software effort for partitioning:

If you would like to make external objects using a Free Compiler, I strongly recommend The Free Borland C++Builder Compiler.

Then you will probably need some documentation for linking a DLL. I do not assure the quality of translation that you need, check out http://www.excite.co.jp/world/url/?wb_lp=JAEN http://www.excite.co.jp/world/url/?wb_lp=JAEN&wb_url=http://www1.sphere .ne.jp/shleep/pd_bc.html &wb_url=http://www1.sphere.ne.jp/shleep/pd_bc.html
