Hi all,
I have two questions/curiosities about GEM:
tassellation patterns (regular division of the plane, eg. like Escher works) in GEM ? anybody did something similar ?
it) "persistence of vision" effect in GEM ? I mean, suppose for example I want to use a "translateXYZ" for a rectangle; the effect I've in mind is something like a "trace" of the movement on the screen with configurable persistence of the trace.. I'm also thinking to oscilloscope-like effects in GEM ...
Thanks in advance

Hallo!
- is it possible to have a (I don't know how to call
it) "persistence of vision" effect in GEM ? I mean, suppose for example I want to use a "translateXYZ" for a rectangle; the effect I've in mind is something like a "trace" of the movement on the screen with configurable persistence of the trace.. I'm also thinking to oscilloscope-like effects in GEM ...
If I understand you correctly I think you mean something like single-buffering ? Try to send a [buffer 1( message to [gemwin] ...
LG Georg
Perhaps not exactly what you are looking for but have you checked out
the feedback example?
It's in 07.texture/07.feedback.pd
Also, perhaps check out the object: pix_snap2tex

You could also try taking a snapshot and create a video-feedback with that, see object [pix_snap2pix].
You can use the [repeat] object to produce displaced copies of a geo.
For oscilloscope see [scope~] also in Gem.
