Hi All,
I am tinkering with my own realtime synth code (which may make it into a pd addon) and i am having some success. However I am interested in any ways in which i can improve on the performance of my app. At the moment I am sending data to the soundcard at 44100 by using a system callback on every frame(sample) should i be sending audio data in blocks instead? and if so how? I can run about 40 interconnected dsp type objects until the system gets really hangy. (most objects are pretty simple too.. saw generators adders e.t.c.) Is it too ambitious to try and create a setup which can handle multiple instruments (patches)? I know i can do it to some extent in pd so how come it so fast?
any help/ pointers appreciated...
tom
