Is it possible to get a ieee1394 DV cam in PD, pref. via PDP? It's literally plug and play using dvgrab, which was surprising, but pdp_v4l of course won't open /dev/raw1394. I've gotten it to work in Gem for Windows, would Gem for Linux do it, then use gem2pdp?
Thanksamillion!

Gem supports ieee1394-videoIn on windof, linux and macOS-X (but your mileage may vary)

hola, ian,
it's still to be done on linux for pdp/pidip, ( it's been only done for Mac OsX ), the major obstacle is that i don't have a firewire card, nor a dv.
the gem2pdp is (temporary) solution, it will slows down the process a lot.
cheers, sevy
