Hi,
Hans, I got this error when startup Pd-0.38.4-extended-RC7 (OSX 10.4.4):
/Users/matema/Desktop/Pd-0.38.4-extended-RC7.app/Contents/Resources/ Scripts/../extra/pdp.pd_darwin: dlopen(/Users/matema/Desktop/ Pd-0.38.4-extended-RC7.app/Contents/Resources/Scripts/../extra/ pdp.pd_darwin, 10): Symbol not found: _gluOrtho2D Referenced from: /Users/matema/Desktop/Pd-0.38.4-extended-RC7.app/ Contents/Resources/Scripts/../extra/pdp.pd_darwin Expected in: /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.1.dylib
so I changed the pdp.pd_dawin from RC7 to pdp.pd_darwin RC5 and the
error didn't appear more...
Have some difference between this pdp versions?

The only difference show be the time it was compiled, I didn't change
anything IIRC. This problem was in the pd-list archives too, it seems
to be a mystery error, as far as I can tell.

hey,
...not sure if anyone replied to this, but I think the following
error is due to pdp not being weak-linked to the x11 library's...in
other words, do you have apple's X11.app installed? It's an extra
install on the install/restore discs...I'm not sure if a fink install
of x11 would work either, because I don't know if it installs x11 in /
usr/whatever or /sw/whatever...

...very weird, because I'd expect them to be the same...there is the
possibility the the RC5 pdp.pd_darwin was compiled sometime ago, and
in a different manner...

.. yes I have X11 installed... and I tried to change to pdp.pd_darwin
RC7 and did'nt work ! !

I don't know much about PDP, I just got it compiled. I think I
switched from Jamie's PDP binary to compiling from source on RC6.

...aha! After a little bit of poking around the dylib's with nm, I
found the symbol in libGLU.dylib, which I guess we need to add to
the linking phase...
