I'm trying to use pix film but can only play the .mov file that came with the Gem examples. If I download an mov file from the web they never seem to work. How can I increase the number of codecs I can use? I'm using quicktime4linux.Thanks. Jim
I'm just about to try a few tonight! I'll let you know how my experience goes. Did you hear that Matt and I are putting on a PD workshop at interaccess? 15th and 17th of August I think. Anyhow I wanted to ask you if there was anything you would like to see discussed in the workshop.
Happy Birthday!

Hi Jim,
http://heroinewarrior.com/quicktime/codecs.html
No compressed headers, quicktime 3 only.
I have been using MJPEG mostly. Basically for production on a Linux system you should be able to produce clips with broadcast2000 (or cinelerra or whatever) and use the with pix_[film,movie]
Downloading from the web wont work in most situations, because the best codecs are nonfree, and used by everyone.
