Hi!
I am looking for an Audio interface (for a laptop) with at least 8 analog inputs and outputs. Because I am doing a lot of live electronic stuff it needs to be as fast as possible. What is faster? a usb 2 card or the RME Hammerfall PCMCIA sollution? Can anyone recomend something?
Thanks!
miha
Hi,
RME will be much faster than USB2. You want either firewire or pcmcia interface.. stay away from USB for audio if your looking for lots of ins/outs and low latency. It also depends on what type of laptop you have. For linux nothing beets the RME Hammerfall. I have a powerbook and use the MOTU 828mkII and love it.

Does PD work with a Digidesign 002 Rackmount? I've searched and searched and turned up nothing, which I take as a negative. But I have one, so was hoping...
When I've run PD with Pro Tools 6 LE running, OS X, PD crashes.
Otherwise, any recommendations for sound cards, perhaps in the 24/96 range with 5.1 out? I like the looks of Creative Labs' Audigy 2 EX. I want the best of all worlds, something that runs on both Linux (PC) and OS X (G4)
Thanks,
Dan
