I still have to use pd version 0.34, both on my P4 portable and my Athlon desktop. Version 0.35 and up are not working: only the main window shows at startup, and I have to kill pd because no menu items are responding. :-( -- Marc

Hi all,
Pd 0.36 test 3 is available in source form or compiled for Windows.
I've fixed several problems in 0.36 test 2 -- most notably, I finally fixed the CPU-time bizarreness when running on P4s, at least so that it works well under Linux. It should be fixed for Windows as well, but I haven't managed to get to a machine to test this on yet.
Hmm... are you typing the Pd command to a shell window; and have you tried -nosound -nomidi, etc? That might narrow things down. If pd -nomidi works, then I know what's hanging you up, and how you can nudge the source to fix it...
Otherwise, would you be willing to recompile Pd configured --enable-debug, run gdb on it, and type
run
<control-C> bt
... that would tell me where Pd is hanging on your machine and perhaps I can figure something out that will help. On Fri, Nov 08, 2002 at 03:42:06PM -0500, Marc Lavallée wrote:

It works with -noadc...
Without any options, here's the output of gdb with the bt command:
