hi,
according to the post from iohannes from mar 18 2002, i tried to increase the line width of a square. according to ioh. i did
nothing happens, also no error
there is also the res message in the curve where nothing happens when it is used, what should it do ?
thx
erich
i think "draw line" and "width 5" should be 2 seperate messages.
btw the draw-message doesn't work with some geos (like sphere, cone and cylinder)
"res $1" with a numberbox into the first inlet of "curve" worked fine for me...

i also tried the seperate version, it also was not orking for me.
iohannes ? what would be the right way to use the width command with draw line ?
am i right that it should increase the diameter of the line for the wireframe ?

thats strange, on my side it s working, i get the wireframe when i use draw line message for sphere and cone, or do u means something else ?

oh ja thats working, as i did not know how it should look like and just tried high numbers i could see no differnece when using it
thx

hmm...strange. both messages are connected to the first inlet of the square?

oops..."draw line" works of course (except for "model", which would be nice though) i meant the "width"-message. it only seems to work with the "simple" geos.

i do believe, that the "width"-message was meant by ulrich. the "draw" should really work...
i have now put the new release on the first draft of the new GEM-homepage, which is at http://iem.kug.ac.at/GEM
btw: if someone is going to install the new version, be sure to first deinstall older versions since i have (again !) renamed all the help-patches. it is now doc/gem/01.basic instead of doc/gem/1.basic and so on. the reference patches will also install not into doc/5.references any more but into doc/5.references/gem i do think this is more clean....

ok,
first thx for the new version.
according to my help problem and the 01.basic/01.redSquare.pd patch: thats exactly what i also did, but still not working
but: i m using my laptop with the still experimental mach 64 DRI driver which still gives the: /////////// error: GEM: Unable to create single buffer window error: GEM: Error creating const context error: GEM: A serious error occured creating const Context error: GEM: Do not continue! /////////// messages at the startup. though hardware acceleration is enabeld and working.
so i have to try it on my nvidia machine, i m sure it will work there
thx
erich

- hopefully
dear erich -
on the nvidia machine: be sure to use the nvidia module and dri, since otherwise you get the same error as with the mach64 (i had this problem last week / debian).
martin
thx
