i know that there is an object for text to speech under linux port, but what about windows? i'm not real strong with programming, but is there a way to utilize something like the ms speech sdk? i've just downloaded it and is looking to explore it somewhat. is there a way to have pd "talk" to the speech engine? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
good morning,
microsoft is evil.
that said, there probably is a way to access the m$ api from within pd. alternately, you (or someone else) could try and compile ratts under windows -- i tried to avoid using linux-specific code when writing it, and rsynth (on which ratts is based) runs on all sorts of platforms... i'd be happy to include any windows makefiles, patches, etc. into the ratts distribution, but i have no plans to actively support windows myself...
