that's because gcc is more forgiving than msvc about "inline" which is not "standard C"
I will commit the new code as soon as i can compile it on linux too, so i'll be sure it doesn't mess up anything.

Sure, as long as it doesn't break anything. [freeverb~] was compiling fine with MinGW on Windows.
