You may succed with a line-level DC current running through the switch, into a *cheap* soundcard. We just tried this with an odometer (reed-relay) and it was working ok, the sound card didn't fry, still i'd never try it with an expensive one.

hello,
I'd rather try with an arduino or to connect the pedal to an usb mouse click or a keyboard key, this pedal shouldn't generate a signal. I's just a switch where when the pedal is not pressed the tip and ring are shorted.

Has anyone ever tried (or has one with which they could try) to connect one of these:

fc4 pedals into the line/mic in of a sound card?
It has this 1/4 inch jack and perhaps one could get a sample accurate expression pedal for cheap?
please let me know if I am about to fry any part of my soundcard, because i'm going to try one out soon...
best,
