Hello. With the help of my tutor Phil Archer I have coded an endless- loop pd-patch which is playing randomly a movie clip out of 50 different Quicktime-films, selecting a new random clip one after each other, playing the film fullscreen. The coding is working very well (attached picture) but there is a problem with the stability: the application is regularly crashing after about 4 to 5 minutes.
I donÂ’t know the reason, but I had a look at the activity window and there I could watch this: pd itself is increasing the physical storage... starting at about 70mb and getting bigger and bigger a new clip is chosen. When it reaches about 210 - 220mb after 4 or 5 minutes, the app crashes.

...and loads of other stuff.
I am runninng this app on my Mac Book Pro: 3,06 GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M with Pd version 0.41.4, GEM: ver: 0.91.3 ‘tigital’
The Quicktime films are compressed with the animation codec, without sound, ratio: 1680 x 1050, playing fullscreen. But size-wise the biggest film is not more then 15mb; most of the films are less then 1mb.
Any ideas what the problem could be?
Thanks a lot and greetings from Germany, Henning
