I found a fresh forum up for sound designers, audio producers, music composers
and all that. Could do with some more members so pass the word around. If it
takes off I'll be trying to enlighten a few more people about Pd. I don't want
to cross post because it's not general interest enough imo, so please tell a
friend if you think they'll be interested.
'Tis here: http://audiopost.info/

I'm interested in using PD to create a sequencer which would control a series of
Transistors via a Cat5 cable.
any thoughts?
I am fairly new to PD, so I thought this would be the best place to get
feedback.
There is currently no 10.3 auto-build machine, but the plan is to
have a 10.3.9-compatible build for the final release.

eNTERFACE07 : workshop in biologically controlled audio-visual synthesis
Dear Colleagues,
This summer, the third eNTERFACE'07 summer workshop in multimodal
human-computer interfaces will take place from July 16th-August 10th on
the campus of Bogazici (Bosporus) University in Istanbul.
The eNTERFACE summer workshops aim at establishing a tradition of
collaborative, localized research and development by gathering together
academics, researchers, and students - for a period of one month - to work
on specific challenges relating to multimodal interfaces.
For more information, please take a look at the web site:
http://www.enterface.net/enterface07/
One of the projects this year proposes to continue previous research into
the use of physiological signals (EEG, EMG, ECG etc.) to control digital
sound and image synthesis processes.
We plan to expand upon previous work into "Biologically-Driven Musical
Instruments" by further investigating the - medical, scientific and
aesthetic - uses of Brain-Computer Interfaces and other modes of
biological control over computing machinery.
For more detailed information on this project, please see the following:
http://www.cmpe.boun.edu.tr/enterface07/callForProjects.php#p11
This workshop is funded by the European Union's SIMILAR
(http://www.similar.cc/) Network of Excellence and participants only have
to pay airfare and lodging costs, for which some grants may be available.
Please indicate in your application if you wish to be considered for this
additional funding.
To submit an application for consideration, please send your CV and a
short statement of interest which mentions your motivation for
participating and the skills which you can bring to the project.
Applications should be sent ASAP to: filatriau(a)tele.ucl.ac.be and
brouse(a)tele.ucl.ac.be

Looks like the 0.40.2 Pd-extended auto-builds are working on all
platforms but Windows now:

I would love to be able to use gcanvas for GoP objects. But it
doesn't seem to work with GoP. It's very handy to put a gcanvas
behind something like an array to get the click data. Maybe someone
could tell me another way to do this? data structures?
Here's an example of what I would like to do in a GoP (download both
files and open double_linear-help.pd, and click-n-drag on the grey
array):

I originally put this together as a half-joke, but I would love to
hear your thoughts! Are there any articles/literature on this sort of
thing? I know that there was a show recently I heard of called
"Swarm" which included works from Mehretu, Matthew Ritchie, and Casey
Reas. I have occasionally joked about drawing in Pd, maybe it's time
to get serious. I hear people even have Lisp poetry slams these
days..
Enjoy,
