OK... I removed the -lib... everything is working.

I downloaded the gem-bin-doc-0.90.0.zip file and have
follewed the instructions on the install. Everything
seems to be in the proper place (i.e. Gem.dll is in
the extra folder and all documents are where they
ought to be), however, when I attempt to open any of
the gem help files or create any gem objects, I get
the error "cannot create". It is as though PD is not
loading gem. I don't know how to use the "Startup..."
fuction to load binaries on next start up or if this
is even the right place to manually tell PD where the
Gem.dll is. I have tried entering things like -lib
c:/pd/gem/Gem.dll (which is the location of the
extracted files) and -lib c:/pd/extra/Gem.dll (which
is the location of the installed file). Nothing seems
to work. I don't know if this has anything to do with
case sensitivity either. On another note, I have
gotten PD to recognize the pmpd.dll with no problem
what so ever. So putting the .dll file in the extras
seems to be on the right track. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks
-Phil

Greetings again,
So, I seem to have solved my own problem pretty satisfactorily. It can't be loadbanged, but requires only one number box to be manually set. I can live with that.
Thanks all.

Hi,
Even better:
http://sastools.com/b2/post/79394137
or:
http://developer.apple.com/internet/webcontent/iframe.html
Both of which don't have to keep the socket open.
Best regards,
Chris.

Modularity is a significant issue for me though, and I'm looking to keep
everything bundled within the abstraction. I started off with the method
you described, but the modularity thing stopped me.
Thanks anyway,

Greetings everyone,
Looking though the list archive, I can't seem to find info on what I'm trying to achieve, though I am almost sure I've read it before.
I'm building an abstraction which holds 4 graphical arrays to be used as transfer functions for my waveshaping abstraction. User draws the upper half of the function, and it is loaded symmetrically into another table of 2x length. The idea is to have 4 or 8 or 12 tables immediately ready to load into my waveshaper with only a "set" message.
Using multiple instances of this abstraction, after saving all the arrays' contents to files, I would ideally like to be able to load the tables from disk automatically, rather than to manually open several files. The problem, of course, is that the $0 won't usually be the same, so I can't generate filenames that way. Does anyone have an elegant solution to manage saved contents of many arrays?
I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Did you meant Pd-0.38-0test4HCS1.dmg at

Hi,
on loading the reference manual's help-midi.pd, I am told midiin and
sysexin only works with Linux. What is the equivalent for OS X? If there
are none, is support for MIDI in the works for OS X?
Cheers
Nik
I have been looking at a qlist sequence written for the polysampler.pd in the
audio examples and the add command is completely droped and there are ;'s
instead of ,'s. still doesn't make my .txt file work. I'll keep at it and
repost if I'm still stuck.
