No, an empty config.h.in is fine. I tried to get the config system to generate config.in files so I could start testing for things like alloca() in the "standard" way, but never managed to get it to work, and apparently didn't clean up after myself completely...

Its: autoconf; ./configure [options] right?
a _temporary_ workaround is "touch config.h.in" (to create the missing file) this mkes it work, but of course i guess there will be some functionality (defines) in the real config.h.in
at least it compiled for me that way.
