I'd love to be able to read in Serial (and for that matter Parallel) port values from Pd. From scanning the archives, it seems like comport

[comport] is included in the Pd-extended installer:

Also, I see references to HID objects and I am wondering what external has them, if I could use those objects to read the serial and parallel ports, and if there are precompiled versions for Win32 out there.
[hid] for Windows is in progress. I was hoping to have it done in
December, but I have been thwarted by the Windows HID API. Windows
locks the mouse and keyboard so Pd cannot get the data. I've been
trying to find a good solution to get around that, it looks like the
only way is to make a separate DirectInput object.
