I don't think it's impossible. Right now pd~ uses posix pipes, which appear to be available for windows -- but the microsoft-supplied version seemed to have license restrictions that prevented me from using it (e.g., wouldn't be compilable under third-party development platforms). This situation might change (or might already have changed), or indeed there might be a good alternative way to handle the intercommunication (sockets?). It's not a high priority for me right now, I'm afraid.
