Hi Edward,
try netserver from http://www.akustische-kunst.org/puredata/maxlib/. It's part of the maxlib library and basically a bidirectional netreceive. When a connection has been established by a client it's possible to send data back. The opposit is netclient.

Is there a bi-directional tcp object for pd(win), like netsend/netreceive but, yes; bi-directional.
The program I'm connecting to assumes it can send data back to the opening client which I need to receive.
Thanks
