It is not very hard to make an abstraction by adding a [t l l], [list length] and a [- 1] to realize this split behavior.
I know, but for such a current operation could be shorter.

$@ expands to "all arguments" list in messages and sub patches. netreceive option to output ip address & port of sender. Netsend inlet to limit send to ip/port combo. cast = object that re-parses impossible/broken symbols back to pd
atoms.
