I say, if someone wants a German forum, they should start it. That's
how the puredata web forum got started, and now it has close to as
many users as this list (though perhaps less posts).

Hi Robert,
I understand that perhaps some PD users may not speak or write
English very well, even if the German-speaking people on this list seem to write English better than many Americans I have met! ;-) But one question that comes up for me: would fragmenting the PD knowledge
base by language help or hurt?for people starting with pd it would help, it is easier to ask the
first questions in the language you talk best, a lot of the vocabulary
is very specific. other languages also have their own forums and people
are very productive! of course there is not so much traffic as on the english mailing list, but a lot of people feel "at home". but then, someone has to maintain the list/forum... marius.best, Derek
