hi,
well, martin's help is really welcome but there's another thing i'm thinking of, to be able to use PiDiP, you first need to load PDP and it also requires the quicktime library.
so, are you using :: -lib <path>/pdp -lib <path>/pidip ???
and, so, does PDP load fine ??
cheers, sevy

hi,
can it be that you've got quicktime4linux and not libquicktime installed. under debian i managed to get a _big_ confusion between those two (if i remember right, one of them is libquicktime and the other one libquicktime1 when using apt-get).
i do not know on what platform you are, yet i just emerged libquicktime under gentoo.
under other dists it might be so that you can install both and compile against the right one yet if you load pidip, the wront shared lib gets loaded (actually they share the same name if i'm right).
have a look at which lqt you got installed

I loaded the ffmpeg suggested by Martin and it seemed to work (thanks Martin). That is, it seemed to compile, but I still have one last problem LOADING the library :.
My command line loading PD, PDP and PIDIP in the correct order...: [root@localhost pidip-0.12.10]# pd -lib pdp -lib /usr/lib/pd/pidip-0.12.10/pidip
And, alas, PDP loads, but not PIDIP. PDP: pure data packet PDP: version 0.12.2 /usr/lib/pd/pidip-0.12.10/pidip.pd_linux: /usr/lib/pd/pidip-0.12.10/pidip.pd_linux: undefined symbol: quicktime_close /usr/lib/pd/pidip-0.12.10/pidip: can't load library
Look familiar. ANyone willing to take one last stab at getting me out of the woods? Thanks again.
/brad.
