hi Erich,
seems that all open gl functions should be available to any open gl compliant system.
I was experiencing the same problem. if the example patch does not work I don't know what to tell you. however, discovered (based on Andres patch) that the gem chain requires a metro going into gemhead for glClear etc. to work.
hello,
i just tested the example and all i see is a blank screen. is the glClearDepth some card specific function ?
i have a Quadro FX Go1400 on linux and i believe i compiled gem with the nvidia headers and that i have their libs in the right place.
neather glxinfo nor glewinfo show me this extension.
any idea ?
best

Hi Wolfgang,
this came up last week or so on this list.
the answer is to use the GL commands.
Andres Ferrari posted this example:

hello list,
working on a Pd-project with a gravitational environment (pmpd) controlling sounds and object-movement in Gem I wonder if there is a possibility of painting traces behind the moved objects in the Gem-window (something like turning off a kind of repaint-mode...?).
