only annoying thing is that for the time being i have to launch jackd/freebob in sudo mode to get realtime performances available...

are you sure that adding your user to the same group as the owner of the file /dev/raw1394 doesn't help? in my case that file was owned by root:disk so adding my user to the disk group was enough to start freebob as a normal user instead of root
