Hi,
There is a "TCP_NODELAY" call on WinXX which should at least improve performance for NT->Linux and NT->NT.
TCP_NODELAY exists for Linux too, but I'm not sure if this improves the situation.
I have changed a few things in the net code, to make it more secure on Linux (no hassle with reserved ports if the application stops without disconnect and the like)
I will sort these things out for 0.31 and will sent patches to miller, which are in a managable, understandable form in the near future.
Meanwhile if someone wants to try my current x_net.c .. it is attached.
No guaranties for anything, though.

PS: more things to come

Hi
I couldn't help notice that Netreceive runs quite badly with TCP on Windows95/98 (but otherwise fine on my Linux box). Is this a Win95/98 issue or is it also a problem with WinNT? (I mean, PD is not really a win9x program, is it?)
Linux Netsend to Win9x Netreceive gives very laggy data while the other way works fine. Strangely enough I have no problem with the UDP port at all (!!?)
Any comments??
